2012 LAMOT Tire Rules

1. Inventory: Every car is allowed a tire inventory maximum of 12 tires from which they must run all races during the season.

2. Identification: Every tire will have its own identification number assigned by the track and registered in the track computer at time of sale.

3. Allocation: Each team is limited to the purchase of 12 tires for use in competition for the entire season.

4. Practice: Competitor may have tires used exclusively for the purpose of practicing with the car, but these tires will not be allowed in competition.

5. Replacement Tires: In the event a tire is destroyed during competition, the team may be allowed to replace the tire in their allocation subject to approval from Track technical inspector. Note: Wear or blistering of tire will not be considered as a reason for replacement.

6. Multiple Cars: The tire inventory shall stay with the assigned driver. Example: If a driver elects to race a different car anytime during the season, the tire inventory must follow the driver and the allocated tires assigned to that driver must be used in whichever car the driver is using in competition.

7. Disqualification:

A.   Any car that competes in a race with tires not registered in its inventory will be disqualified.

B.    Any team caught trying to alter, duplicate or in any other way circumvent the intent of this rule will be penalized subject to suspension and loss of LAMOT points.

8. Last year’s tires: Tires left from last year’s inventory may be used for competition, but these tires must be registered into this year’s inventory and will be deemed part of the 12 tire allotment for the season.

9. Compound: Tires must meet a minimum durometer of 50 while hot and are subject to on-track post race inspection.
