                                   Division Timeline

The LAMOT Late Model division began as an idea in the fall of 2007 by car owner Gordy Trank as a way to make weekly racing more affordable and competitive. It was created by a group of current and former drivers, team owners, and tech inspectors with a combined 150+ years of experience in racing. Over the winter of 2007 a set of rules was put together with the goal of making the division more affordable for teams looking to move up to a late model and less expensive to run weekly. Four key measures were instituted; the use of a longer lasting tire, the low cost 602 crate motor, pump instead of race fuel, and less expensive shocks. In the Spring of 2008 LAMOT became incorporated and began their first season. Family owned Holland NASCAR Motorsports Complex agreed to LAMOT running weekly in 2008 with a purse of $200 per car and $125 for last place. In 2012 LAMOT returns to Holland to compete in the track's 53rd year.
