Race recap and videos: added 6/29/09 LAMOT announces point fund for 2009 When the LAMOT (Late Model of Tomorrow) division began in the 2008 season, the main goal of the board of directors was to be an independent group in order to have control over competition rules. Soon after LAMOT was established, it was apparent that more freedom meant more responsibility, and thus support in various areas was necessary for the division to thrive. King and Johnson split twin features The first of two features on the night for the LAMOT division got off to a rough start. On lap 2 behind leaders #65 Mike Ticco and #77 Jason Kline, #2 Dave Whittaker got loose off of turn 2 and made hard contact with the concrete wall as #07 Nick Crassi and week 1 winner Eldon King, III would also get collected. Whittaker's car received considerable damage and would not be able to finish the race or compete in the second feature of the night, while Crassi and King would be able to continue. Wild and wacky photo finish to kick off the 2009 season One race into the season and there's already plenty of action to talk about in LAMOT. The night began with a 10 lap heat race to determine the starting positions for the 25 lap feature. Heat positions were selected by random draw. #75 Scott Jarrell and #65 Mike Ticco started in the front row. Race recap and videos: added 5/24/09 Bennett authors a Holland Opus at speedway by Larry Ott / Buffalo News Holland NASCAR Motorsports Complex will throw the first green flag of its 50th anniversary season Saturday. Let's hope the golden anniversary night goes a little more smoothly than the inaugural one, which turned out to be a disaster. "I remember that we ran our first race on June 24, 1960, and we had problems with track preparation," said founder and promoter Ron Bennett. "The conditions turned out so dusty that no one could see. The dust was so much a problem that we had to cancel the rest of the evening. The dust was so thick that when the fans left we could see the spots where they had been sitting." #07 Nick Crassi, #0 Eldon King, III, #2 Dave Whittaker, #75 Scott Jarrell, and #77 Jason Kline getting in some practice laps Thursday evening
