Season 5 set to start for the McClurg Auto Group NASCAR Late Model division at the Holland NASCAR Motorsports Complex Since the division began in 2008 there have been many who have put in their time, effort, and money into launching the weekly asphalt late model division, including the teams themselves. At this time we’d like to acknowledge some of our supporters. Off to the Races With opening day less than three weeks away on Sunday May 20th at Holland Speedway and the Annual McKinley Mall Show even closer, beginning May 6th, the McClurg Auto Group Late Models (also known as LAMOT) are getting ready to roll into the start of their 5th season. As the teams are putting the finishing touches on their cars, fans can expect to see some of the best looking late models on display soon. McKinley Mall Car Show Starts Holland Season .....All cars that are registered will be given five points to start the season. “With the addition of giving the drivers bonus points, they could potentially win and or lose the championship at the end of the season” says Holland PR Director Steven Petty. Cars will be going into the mall on Friday night, May 4th at 9:30pm and will be coming out of the mall on Friday May 11th after the mall closes. The show will run May 5-11 during regular mall hours. LAMOT Welcomes McClurg Auto to the Sponsorship Team LAMOT is pleased to announce that McClurg Auto has agreed to a three year committment to the late model division at Holland Speedway. $1,000 to Win for the Upcoming 50 Lap Races The LAMOT Board of Directors met for the first time in 2012 on January 15th. Topics discussed at the meeting included but not limited to were the tire compound to be used in 2012, the 50 lap event purses, and an addition to the schedule and board of directors. Party for returning and new Competitors Holland Willows A New Look is coming to LAMOT The LAMOT Board of Directors met on December 4th for their second and final off-season meeting of the year before heading into 2012. Topics brought up at the October 28th meeting were expanded on which included; rules, the upcoming 15 race schedule along with the 50 lap events that Holland has scheduled for June 9th and August 4th, and a review of prospective board member applications.
HOLLAND HONORS TOP DRIVERS OF 2011 The 52nd season at the Holland Motorsports Complex came to a formal close on Friday evening, November 18th with the annual awards banquet, honoring the champions and top competitors from the 2011 racing season at the Western New York race plant. The LAMOT Board of Directors met for their first off-season meeting on October 30th.
